Frontier Conference: Montana Tech coasts to 73-0 win over MSU-Northern

Oct. 2—BUTTE — The Orediggers (4-1) dashed to a 49-0 halftime lead over MSU-Northern (0-5) en route to a 73-0 blowout victory at home. Tech quarterback Blake Thelen had three first half aerial touchdowns and Kaleb Winterbur tacked on two more on the ground to fuel the Orediggers offense.

Defensively Tech had six sacks and in total held MSU-Northern to 28 yards of total offense. In total Montana Tech had 467 yards of total offense.

Blake Counts, a Flathead product, continued to find success notching a score on the ground for his sixth total touchdown of the year. Another former Brave Jaden MacNeil also got in on the action with one reception for 18 yards.

College of Idaho 31, Carroll 20

HELENA — The College of Idaho Yotes took a 7-0 first quarter lead and would never trail on their way to a 31-20 road win over Carroll. The Yotes (5-0)found most of their production in the rushing attack with Alexander Allamar going for 116 yards and a touchdown on 22 attempts and teammate Jon Schofield added two short yardage rushing touchdowns.

Carroll (3-2) quarterback Jack Prka played well in the losing effort, going 16 of 28 passing with three touchdowns and one interception. Prka was under constant duress though as the College of Idaho defense accumulated nine sacks on the day.

Southern Oregon 42, Eastern Oregon 14

LA GRANDE, Ore — Southern Oregon (2-3)beat Eastern Oregon (0-6) 42-14 on the road with running back Gunner Yates leading the charge by racking up three rushing touchdowns and one more as a receiver. Raiders quarterback Blake Asciutto was 17 for 28 passing with two touchdowns.

Eastern Oregon's offensive production came when Tanner Sweek found Drew Reyes for a 28 yard touchdown grab and the Mounties punt returner George Balowski returned a punt 21 yards to the house.

Rocky Mountain 41, Montana Western 26

DILLON — Rocky Mountain (4-1) is heading back to Billings victorious after knocking off Montana Western (3-2) 41-26 on the road. Rocky Mountain quarterback George Tribble had 277 yards passing and two touchdowns to lead the way for the Battlin' Bears offense. Former Columbia Falls Wildcat Colton McPhee had a fourth quarter rushing touchdown for Montana Western to make things 28-26 but after that it was all Rocky Mountain down the stretch.
