Friday's HS roundup: Romps, MacCannell lead Portsmouth girls
HUDSON – Avery Romps scored a game-high 15 points and Maddie MacCannell had 14 as the Portsmouth High School girls basketball team beat Alvirne, 46-29 on Friday in a Division I battle.
It was the 15th straight win for the Clippers, who improved to 16-1 on the season. Alvirne is 9-7.
Bella Slover and Margaret Montplaisir both had six points for the Clippers. Paige McKinley led Alvirne with 15 points.

KITTERY, Maine – Emme Hale had 15 points and Hannah Thorsen added 13 for Traip Academy in this Class C South loss.

LONDONDERRY – Junior Emma Smith had 12 points, seven rebounds, six steals and four assists for the Blue Hawks in this Division I win.
Senior Erin McIlroy added eight points and five steals for Exeter, while junior Rachel Ludwig had seven points.

DOVER - Maddie McMahon led St. Thomas Aquinas (8-3) with nine points in this Division III loss.
Abby Rayder added eight points for the Saints, while Emilie von der Linden had five blocks and eight rebounds.

NASHUA – The Red Raiders were knocked out of contention for the upcoming Division I tournament with this loss.
Jade Trueman led Spaulding with 12 points, while Hannah Drew and Ashley Trogler had eight and seven points, respectively.

MANCHESTER - Baris Fortier’s 14 points led the Mules to this Division IV win. Jameson Senembath added 11 points, while Colby Bost had 10.

SOUTH BERWICK, Maine – Aidan Sullivan’s 3-pointer gave the Hawks a 53-52 lead, but the Rams answered with back-to-back three's and made their free throws down the stretch, sealing this Class A South win.
Andrew Perry led Marshwood (8-5) with 22 points, while Sullivan had 19 and Jason Singer had 10.
BOYS HOCKEY

PORTLAND, Maine – Tyler Conant tallied the game-winning goal in overtime for the Class B Wildcats in this win over Class A Portland/Deering.
Luke Douris scored two goals for York, including the game-tying goal. Gordon Diment also scored a goal for the Wildcats.
York goalie Ben Soares had 33 saves.

Marshwood’s Maguire is second
BRIDGTON, Maine – Marshwood’s Quinn Maguire placed second in a time of 1 minute, 37.86 seconds in this slalom run at Shawnee Peak.
Falmouth won the team competition with a score of 28 points. Windham (37), Marshwood (43), Gorham (52), Cheverus (83) and Kennebunk (92) placed second through sixth, respectively.
Marshwood’s Kai Machamer (2:03.83) placed 11th, while Zach Glidden (2:11.98) was 14th, and Caleb Boyle (2:17.11) was 16th.
Traip Academy’s Conrad Burke (2:33.79) was 24th.
GIRLS ALPINE SKIING
Hawks’ Prewitt wins slalom
BRIDGTON, Maine – Marshwood's Hadley Prewitt covered the slalom course in 1:44.33, besting the field.
Falmouth won the team competition with a score of 28 points. Marshwood (50), Cheverus (52), Windham (73), Kennebunk (75) and Gorham (82) placed second through sixth, respectively.
Marshwood’s Serafina Melino (2:09.11) placed seventh, while teammates Olivia Drake (2:40.20) and Sarah McClellan (2:42.03) placed 20th and 22nd, respectively.
Traip Academy’s Meredith McGonigle (2:38.62) placed 19th.
