BOYS BASKETBALL

Oshkosh North 70, Oshkosh West 48

OSHKOSH - Oshkosh North got out ahead early, but West closed the gap right before the half. Tristan Johanknecht tied the game at 29 with just over a minute left on an “and-one” dunk and the made free throw gave the Wildcats a brief advantage, 30-29.

Johanknecht would finish as the game’s leading scorer with 20 points. Dylan Taylor added 11 points for West.

On the following possession, however, Ari Giannopoulos regained the lead for the Spartans with his own “and-one” play to make it 32-30 at the break.

The second half was all North, going up by as many as 25 points.

Xzavion Mitchell led the Spartans with 19 points, 11 of which came in the second half, and Quintin Fisher sank a trio of 3-pointers to finish with 14. Fred Ware and Steven Clark each scored 10 points to round out the scoring leaders for North.

APPLETON - The Cardinals led by 16 points at halftime in the Fox Valley Association win over the Terrors.

Jamariea Dalton led Fond du Lac with 30 points. Colton Blank added 17 points.

Appleton West was led by Kaden Gowdy with 13 points. Ezra Brown, Denium Potts and E.J. Holt each scored 10 points.

WAUPUN - Aiden Hawkinson scored 28 points to lead the Warriors past the Tigers.

Issac VandeKamp added 14 points, while Aaron Hull and Brayden Torres each scored 10 points for Waupun.

MAYVILLE - Adison Mittelstadt scored 31 points to lead the Cardinals to the win over the Lions.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Oshkosh West 59, Oshkosh North 48

OSHKOSH - Despite trailing by six at halftime, Oshkosh West pulled away after the break going up by as many as 12 points with 6:30 to go in the game.

North managed to cut the Wildcats’ advantage in half in the following three minutes, but West would not be denied victory.

Laina Hammen scored 18 points to lead the Wildcats to the victory. Paige Seckar added 14 points, while Braelee Jodarski scored 13 and Maddi Choinski had 12 for West.

Mallory Ott led Oshkosh North with 16 points, followed by Ava Hanson with 14 points and Emma Niemczyk with 12.

FOND DU LAC - Brooke Butler scored 17 points and Brooklyn Wood had 16 for the Cardinals in the FVA win over the Terrors.

Sophia Langille added 12 points for Fond du Lac, which made eight 3-pointers in the game and led by 25 points at halftime.

HORICON - Savanna Frea led a balanced attack with 12 points, while Jaye Zingsheim added 11 as the Lions cruised past the Marshmen. In all, seven Lions scored in the win.

Horicon was led by Cyri Reinwald’s seven points.

ASHWAUBENON - The Pirates scored three goals in the third period to rally for the win.

Eliott Mikesch and William Lyons each scored two goals for Bay Port. Aidan Fahey also scored, while Samuel Lyons had three assists.

Bay Port goalie Devin Rustlie made 17 saves.

Austin Westergaard had two goals and an assist for the Ledgers. Talan Blanck added a goal and two assists, and Tate Baker also scored a goal.

Springs goalie Memphis Young had 23 saves.
