If free movies are your jam

Jul. 1—Shooting guard Klay Thompson spent plenty of time on sports fans' TV screens this spring as his Golden State Warriors rolled through the playoffs, culminating in an NBA Finals victory over Boston for the team's fourth NBA title in eight years.

He's set to get face time with viewers again — this time via a showing of Space Jam: A New Legacy, a 2021 animated comedy adventure starring Thompson, LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Damian Lillard, and other NBA notables. The film is a sequel to a 1996 feature starring Michael Jordan and other NBA stars of the day.

The showing is part of the city's Santa Fe Summer movie series, which runs weekly through July 15 at Ragle, Villa Linda, or Swan parks, with another showing Aug. 12. Attendees are advised to bring blankets and snacks. Space Jam: A New Legacy (rated PG, 115 minutes) screens at 6:30 p.m. Friday, July 1, at Swan Park. Doors open at 5:30; free; santafenm.gov
