Freddie Kitchens: 'I'm embarrassed' after brawl erupts at Browns-Steelers game

Several members of the Cleveland Browns quickly expressed embarrassment and anger after defensive end Myles Garrett hit Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph with his own helmet on Thursday night.

Head coach Freddie Kitchens was among them.

Kitchens was somber during his postgame press conference while discussing his feelings on Garrett's actions, which got him ejected from the game and could prompt legal action.

"Of course, that's not who we want to be at the end of the game," Kitchens said. "That's not who Myles wants to be. That's not who we're gonna be. You have to be able to maintain your composure in times like that."

"I'm embarrassed," he continued. "Myles is embarrassed. It's not good. He understands what he did. He understands that it's totally unacceptable."

Garrett did admit his actions were "foolish" and "embarrassing" after the game, saying he simply lost his cool and regretted what happened.

Several in the NFL world are calling for a steep suspension or even jail time for the 23-year-old defensive end, who was drafted by Cleveland first overall in the 2017 NFL draft.

Fox announcer Joe Buck, who was calling Thursday's game, also slammed the brawl as "one of the worst things I've ever seen on a professional sports field."
