Four-star EDGE Omari Abor commits to Ohio State over Texas

Four-star edge Omari Abor announced his commitment to Ohio State during the Under Armour All-America game on Sunday.

Texas and Ohio State were seemingly the top two schools in the running for the Duncanville product. Abor is rated the No. 4 edge in the 2022 recruiting class and the No. 8 overall prospect from the state of Texas according to 247Sports composite.

While the Longhorns have put together an impressive top five class for the 2022 cycle, there’s been some painful misses along the way. Along with Abor, Texas will likely lose out on five-star linebacker Harold Perkins to Texas A&M later today.

Texas will likely need to look to the transfer portal in order to bolster their pass rush this offseason. The Longhorns are also hoping that Justice Finkley, Jaray Bledsoe, and J’Mond Tapp can make an immediate impact as true freshman next season.
