Dec. 3—Four people were injured Friday night after a driver operating a 2008 Scion TC attempted to pass a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado on Route 35, also known as Bonny Eagle Road, in Standish, according to a report from the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office.
The crash happened when Dylan Paul, 25, of Arundel, who was driving the Scion, tried to pass Mitchell Mclean of Kennebunkport, who was driving the Silverado with a passenger who was a minor, authorities said.
Paul lost control and crossed the centerline, crashing head-on into a third vehicle, a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Robert Myslik of Standish, Capt. Craig Smith said Saturday in a statement.
Mclean's Silverado crashed into the rear of the Scion, and continued into a tree, the statement said.
All four people involved were treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Myslik was treated and released at the scene while Mclean and his passenger were taken to Maine Medical Center. Paul was taken to Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford, Smith said.
All three vehicles sustained significant damage and were towed.
Route 35 was closed between Ossipee Trail West and Chicopee Road late Friday.
The cause of the crash is under investigation, but speed appears to be a factor, Smith said.
