Three Aberdeen Central golfers finish in top eight as Eagles capture ESD girls golf crown

Three Aberdeen Central golfers placed in the top eight at the Eastern South Dakota Conference girls golf meet as the Golden Eagles won the team title Tuesday in Pierre.

Olivia Braun led the way for Central, shooting 74, which was good for second place. Harrisburg's Reese Jansa was the medalist, carding a 70. The Tigers finished second in the team race, seven strokes back.

Leah Gough and Emma Dohrer both shot 80 for Central, with Gough taking sixth and Dohrer eighth. A tiebreaker was used to determine the places as four golfers finished with a score of 80. Central's Kyley Wirebaugh finished with an 81, good for 11th.

Up next, the Golden Eagles will travel to Brandon for an invitational on Tuesday. That's scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. with a number of other Class AA schools attending.
