Fort Walton Beach man killed in crash near Eglin Parkway and McGriff Street

FORT WALTON BEACH — A Fort Walton Beach pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle Friday in the area of Eglin Parkway and McGriff Street, according to a Fort Walton Beach Police Department news release.

About 5:16 p.m., Fort Walton Beach police officers responded to reports of a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic accident. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and rendered aid until officers arrived and took over.

The pedestrian was identified as 60-year-old James C. Temples. Temples was transported to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.
