Former Washington tight end lands with Cincinnati
It didn’t take long for former Washington tight end Thaddeus Moss to find a new home.
On Monday, the Cincinnati Bengals announced they had acquired Moss on waivers from Washington after he was waived late last week.
The 6-foot-2, 249-pound Moss was an undrafted free agent out of LSU who signed with Washington after the draft last year, in part because of the team’s lack of depth at the tight end position. However, he was placed on injured reserve in the summer and never appeared in a game for the Football Team.
Moss, the son of Randy Moss, went undrafted in 2020 after a medical check at the combine revealed a fracture in his foot that required surgery.
In Cincinnati, Moss will reunite with his former college quarterback, Joe Burrow. In his final season at LSU in 2019, Moss caught 47 passes for 570 yards and scored four touchdowns. Moss was also a fearless blocker for the Tigers, who would win the national championship that season.
Moss will have to battle to make Cincinnato’s roster with four tight ends already on the roster.
