Tuasivi Nomura, a former USC Trojan linebacker, announced this weekend that he would be transferring from USC to Fresno State.

Nomura totaled 24 tackles for the Trojans in 2022 as well as one pass deflection.

Nomura played high school football at Corona (Calif.) Centennial, where he was a three-star prospect and is staying in-state.

The 6-foot-1 linebacker from Cordova was the No. 793 overall prospect in the Class of 2019, as well as the No. 55 overall OLB. He was rated the No. 81 player from the state of California.

Nomura will have two remaining seasons of eligibility for the Fresno State Bulldogs.

Nomura delivered a big hit on Utah’s Cam Rising in the October 15 loss to the Utes in Salt Lake City. There were a few times this season when he completed a ferocious hit, but he didn’t make a high-enough volume of plays over the course of a full season to remain on the roster. It was clear that USC needed another reshuffle in the portal. With Mason Cobb coming in, simple math demanded that Nomura was going to leave. Now he has his new landing spot. He joins the Mountain West Conference champions and a quality coach, Jeff Tedford. We wish him the best.
