Former Unioto teacher Wayne Horsley acquitted in prostitution case

ATHENS― Wayne Horsley's case was dismissed upon further review of evidence, according to the Hocking County Municipal Court.

Horsley, 52 of Athens, was arrested and charged in October with engaging in prostitution, a first-degree misdemeanor, according to the Hocking County Sheriff's Office. He was acquitted on Monday.

Horsley is a former Unioto and Jackson teacher and football coach. He was a social studies teacher at Athens High School starting in 2007. He resigned from the district on Nov. 4, 2022, according to Athens Superintendent Tom Gibbs.
