Former Sanford Health Executive Vice President Micah Aberson will join Mammoth Sports as its president, the company announced Thursday.

Aberson resigned from Sanford last fall after six years with the health system.

During that time, Sanford and Mammoth forged a close relationship as Mammoth helped expand the Sanford Sports Complex. Mammoth is currently completing artificial turf baseball and soccer fields at the complex.

Mammoth's founder, Jake Farrant, will remain the company's CEO.

“Micah’s experience with building organizations and executing in complex environments is world-class,” Farrant said in a statement. “We are euphoric that he’s chosen to bring to Mammoth his abilities that will be crucial for shaping the strategic trajectory of our company.”

Aberson will work from the company's Sioux Falls office.

“I am thrilled to work with the genuine, authentic, and talented people I’ve come to know at Mammoth,” he said in the statement. “The opportunity to contribute to the economic and employment growth of Sioux Falls is something I’m very excited about.”

Founded in 2008, Mammoth has constructed facilities and fields for sports organizations across the country, including the NFL and colleges. Besides the Sanford Sports Complex, Mammoth has also constructed facilities in South Dakota at Northern State University and Augustana University.
