Joe Milton appears to be headed to the SEC.

The former Michigan football quarterback is transferring to Tennessee, according to a report from Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports. 247Sports also reported Milton's name was in Tennessee's student directory.

Milton entered the transfer portal Feb. 18 as a graduate transfer and will have immediate eligibility and three seasons to play (he redshirted as a true freshman in 2018).

The former four-star recruit never quite harnessed his considerable potential in Ann Arbor. After sitting on the bench his first two seasons, Milton emerged as the team's starting quarterback entering the 2020 season, with Dylan McCaffrey, the other leading competitor for the starting job, transferring before the season.

Milton appeared in six games, completing 80 of 141 (56.7%) passes for 1,077 yards, four touchdowns and four interceptions. He was replaced as the starting quarterback by Cade McNamara, who took over against Rutgers and led the Wolverines to a win after a 17-0 deficit, and then started the next week against Penn State in the final game of the season.
