Former Kentucky football coach Hal Mumme was arrested early Friday morning in Lexington, according to court records.

Mumme, who coached the Wildcats from 1997 to 2000, was charged with second-degree criminal trespassing and resisting arrest after being taken into custody following an incident at the downtown Hyatt Regency Lexington. He entered a guilty plea that afternoon and was sentenced to time served, with court records indicating he paid no fine.

In his arrest citation form Lexington Police, Mumme is accused of knowingly unlawfully remaining in a building. He was asked and told multiple times to leave the building, the citation said, but refused. Mumme is also accused of attempting to prevent a peace officer from affecting the arrest by "using physical force and violence against the peace officer."

Mumme, whose listed address on the arrest citation is in Texas, does not appear to have any additional criminal record in Kentucky.

Now 70 and a pioneer of the "air raid" offense, Mumme spent four seasons at UK and has served as head coach at several other universities, including New Mexico State from 2005 to 2008.

He'd recently served on the coaching staff of the XFL's Dallas Renegades and announced this year that he'd started his own NIL agency, Hal Mumme and Associates, with a goal to "compensate all student-athletes through leveraging their Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) with advertisers from across the country."
