The Ford Bronco Heritage Editions Look to the Past
The Ford Bronco and Bronco Sport add vintage flair with special Heritage Edition and Heritage Limited Edition models.
These new models offer special throwback liveries and equipment that are nods to the 1966 Bronco.
Ford's Bronco Sport Heritage Edition is on sale now, with the Bronco versions coming later this year.
Nostalgia is a dish best served while wearing sepia-colored glasses, and years removed from the good old days. Well, the days of carburetors full of varnish and bias-ply tires are mostly gone, but the vintage aesthetic is coming back in full force. Ford’s latest dip into your old yearbook yields a set of Bronco and Bronco Sport Heritage Editions. These throwback editions are more than just a few paint codes tacked onto standard Bronco and Bronco Sport production—they are holistic, modern approaches to honor the past.
The star of the show: Ford’s Bronco Heritage Edition. Taking inspiration from the first-year, 1966 Ford Bronco, these new models blend special finishes with Heritage Edition wheels and more nods to Ford’s first Bronco. Those nods are as simple as a white grille that support bright red Ford lettering and a two-tone paint job. Aluminum wheels emulate the Bronco’s original steelies. The interior also nods back at Bronco’s legacy with an Oxford white finish on the dash and standard cloth seat covers.
If your regular Bronco Heritage Edition isn’t enough, Ford’s also releasing a Bronco Heritage Limited Edition, which cranks up the creature comforts while still sticking to the throwback nature. This special edition will launch exclusively in robin’s egg blue, which Ford says is based on the Bronco’s Arcadian blue, but Yellowstone metallic is headed to this machine later down the line. The Heritage Limited Edition also sees different wheels with dog-dish hubcaps and leather-trimmed seats.
If you’re not interested in rolling around in a serious off-roader but want to enjoy the Bronco’s history, Ford’s adding this Heritage Edition to the Bronco Sport. This lineup comes with a similar two-tone finish as the Bronco, with an Oxford white top flanking seven lower color options. The Heritage Limited Edition variant sees only three colors: robin’s egg blue, Yellowstone metallic, and peak blue. The standard Bronco Sport Heritage Edition boasts plaid cloth seat coverings and a navy pier-finished dashboard. The Bronco Sport Heritage Limited Edition gets leather trimmings on the inside and Oxford white door panels. The higher trim also gets metal scripts on the front fender to add a dash of classic style.
As you’d expect, the Bronco Sport Heritage Edition is the most affordable of the bunch and starts at $35,840, with its Heritage Limited Edition starting at $46,250. The Bronco Heritage Edition will set you back $45,900. The Bronco Heritage Limited Edition starts at $68,490. Ford says the Bronco Sport models are available right now, but the Bronco variants are coming later this year.
