Flour Bluff's Navaeh Lanter voted Caller-Times High School Athlete of the Week

Flour Bluff's Navaeh Lanter had a big day at the plate in a District 29-5A win against Victoria East and has been voted the Caller-Times High School Athlete of the Week for March 7-12.

Lanter, who also plays for the Hornets' basketball team, went 4 for 5 with two triples and one double and five RBI against the Titans.

Lanter received 1,213 of the 4,361 votes cast, which was 27.8% of all votes.

Students can only be named Athlete of the Week one time per season, per sport.

Calallen pitcher Justin Lamkin was second with 991 votes.

Nominations are due each Monday by 5 p.m. and can be submitted through email at ctsports@caller.com, by messaging the Caller-Times through its Facebook page, or on Twitter @CallerSports.

Voting runs Tuesday through Thursday each week.
