Florida now battling Alabama for this 4-star RB target

Four-star running back Cedric Baxter Jr. made headlines this week when he yanked Arkansas out of his top five schools to make room for Alabama. Florida still sits in his list of top schools along with the Crimson Tide, Miami, Texas and Texas A&M. Baxter’s father spoke with 247Sports about his son’s recruitment.

His father said no school is currently standing out to Baxter Jr. However, out of his top five schools, the Gators have to factor highly for him because he has visited the Swamp three times this year. The only other school he has visited more than once is Miami, where he stopped by twice.

Baxter Jr. has only set one official visit this summer, which will be to the Longhorns, according to his father. However, he’s taking unofficial visits to the Hurricanes on June 3 and the Aggies at the end of the month.

Baxter Jr. doesn’t seem like he is in any rush to make a commitment anytime soon. The race for his pledge will likely continue until December.

With Baxter Jr. setting up more visits, Florida needs to get him back on campus soon just so that it can stay fresh in his mind.

247Sports ranks as the 46th overall prospect in the country and the fourth-best at his position.
