Flood risk for parts of the UK over the weekend as more downpours due
Parts of Britain are due for even more rainfall - and the risk of more flooding - over the weekend.
Yellow weather warnings are in place across the country through Saturday, with two inches of rain forecast and due to move north throughout the day.
Parts of the East Midlands and the North East are at risk of flooding, the Met Office has warned, while Wales, central and south-eastern England will escape the worst of the deluge.

Nine flood warnings are in place throughout England on Saturday, mainly in the South West and North East, as well as 85 less severe flood alerts.
Firefighters in Devon and Cornwall have also warned drivers to stay away from flooded roads after a number of calls overnight to stranded cars.

Met Office forecaster Greg Dewhurst said: “It’s a pretty unsettled start to the weekend, and a very cloudy day today, with heavy rain pushing its way north throughout the day.
“Some places could see 40mm to 50 mm of rain. There’s quite a bit of rainfall to come in the next 24 hours.”
Two yellow weather warnings are in place for the east and north of Scotland until 9am on Sunday, but for most, the rain will have cleared.
Earlier this month, the Army had to help people in flood-stricken towns and villages around Doncaster and Sheffield and parts of the Midlands.
