Flags fly at half-staff for fallen Chambers County deputy

Gov. Kay Ivey has directed American flags to fly at half-staff Monday in honor of a fallen Chambers County sheriff's deputy.

J'Mar Abel, 24, was killed in the line of duty on June 20. He was assisting a Roanoke police officer in a vehicle pursuit when his patrol SUV left the road and overturned.

His funeral is set for today, and flags will remain lowered until sunset.
