GALESBURG — Five members of the Galesburg High School baseball team were named All-Western Big 6 for their performances on diamonds during league play.
Seniors Grant Aten (utility), Kannon Kleine (catcher) and Thad Morling (infield) grabbed first team honors. Juniors Charlie Lardi (outfield) and Easton Steck (infield) were named to the second team.
Aten led the WB6 in batting average (.471) and was second in the league in on-base percentage (1.224). Aten finished tied for second in runs scored with 14 and his 14 RBIs put him in a tie for fourth in the category.
Kleine batted .459 in WB6 contests — second best — and he led the league in OPS (1.379) and RBIs (20). Kleine finished in a tie for second in the conference in homers with three.
Steck led the WB6 in home runs with four and he scored 13 runs - fourth in the league. Morling led the league in runs scored (15), and he finished fourth in the WB6 in batting average (.435) and Morling's 1.131 OPS ranked fifth.
