Game recap: Josh Hendrickson, making just his second Double-A start, fired five shutout innings and combined with three relievers on a six-hitter as the Fightin Phils (13-26) topped the Senators (13-25) in a Northeast League game at FNB Field.

The win was the eighth in 10 games for the Fightins. They lead the six-game series 2-1.

Hendrickson, a 23-year-old lefty and former 38th-round pick, allowed three hits and didn't walk a batter. He needed just 48 pitches, 33 of them strikes, to get through five, and lowered his ERA to 3.00.

Zach Warren pitched a scoreless sixth and Tyler Carr fired two shutout innings. Jakob Hernandez earned his fourth save despite allowing a ninth-inning RBI single to Aldrem Corredor. He struck out Alex Dunlap to end it.

Jorge Bonifacio's RBI single in the third gave Reading a 1-0 lead.

Danny Brito's RBI single in the seventh made it 2-0. Brito had three of Reading's nine hits and is batting .287.

Phillers: The Fightins are 9-6 in June after going 4-20 in May. ... They have gone 9-4 since falling to 4-22 in early June. ... McCarthy Tatum had two hits and stole a base for the Fightins. ...
