Game recap: Terrin Vavra homered and drove in three runs as the Baysox beat the Fightins for the third straight night and extended Reading's losing streak to four games.

The Fightin Phils have been outscored 19-4 in the first three games of the series; their 7.27 ERA is the highest in the Double-A Northeast League.

Matt Vierling and McCarthy Tatum each doubled twice for Reading (2-7), and Nick Matera hit his first Double-A homer.

Kyle Glogoski, making his first start for Reading after returning from Lehigh Valley, surrendered a three-run homer to Patrick Dorrian in the first inning and allowed five hits and four runs over 2 1/3 innings.

The Fightins closed within 4-3, getting an RBI single from Daniel Brito and an RBI double from Tatum in the third, and Matera's homer in the fourth.

The Baysox (6-2) pulled away in the late innings, with J.C. Escarra homering in the seventh and Vavra in the eighth. Bowie leads the league with 14 homers in eight games; Reading's staff has allowed a league-high 17 homers.

Phillers: Prior to the game the Phillies placed Reading infielder Matt Kroon on the disabled list with a right shoulder contusion. ... The Phillies moved outfielder Hunter Hearn from Jersey Shore to Reading. ... Mark Appel pitched two hitless innings for Reading but walked three in his second appearance of the season. ... The Fightins put 14 runners on base, but left nine stranded, and batted just 1-for-10 with runners in scoring position.
