Field is set for BCIAA boys volleyball playoffs

May 9—The BCIAA boys volleyball playoffs will open Tuesday with a pair of quarterfinal matches.

Berks I third-place Gov. Mifflin (7-9) will play at Berks II runner-up Schuylkill Valley (7-6), and Berks II third-place finisher Wyomissing (5-7) will play at Berks I runner-up Exeter (15-2), both matches at 7 p.m.

Berks I champ Wilson (12-3) and Berks II champ Brandywine Heights (7-7) received quarterfinal byes and will host semifinal matches Thursday. The Bulldogs get the winner of the Schuylkill Valley-Mifflin match; the Bullets play the Exeter-Wyomissing winner.

The championship match will be Saturday at the site of the higher seed.

Brandywine and Schuylkill Valley tied for first in Berks II at 6-2 and split their regular season matches. The Bullets earned the division title by virtue of having a higher District 3 power rating.

Wyomissing tied with Berks Catholic for third in Berks II at 4-4. The Spartans earned the playoff berth as they won both regular season matches.
