FHP: Fort White man, 71, killed Tuesday evening in High Springs crash

A Fort White man was killed Tuesday evening in a two-vehicle crash in High Springs, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.

According to the report, the Fort White man, 71, was attempting to cross U.S. Highway 441 from Northwest 239th Street in a pickup truck at 6:20 p.m., when he crossed into the path of an SUV driven by a 59-year-old High Springs woman.

The man was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle, the report said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by officials with High Springs Fire Rescue. His name was not released.
