FBI: Active shooter incidents in the U.S. increased by 52%

A shooting at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas left at least 21 dead, most of them being students. This latest shooting follows a trend highlighted in statistics by the FBI showing a surge in active shooter occurrences across the United States. The information released but the FBI on Monday revealed active shooter incidents in 2021 surged by more than 50% from 2020 and nearly 97% from 2017.
