Free concerts will return to the 2022 Rochester Lilac Festival — as will numerous acts that have played the event before. Blues Traveler and UpRooted, featuring Michael Glabicki of Rusted Root, are among the headliners. More.

The Tops Rochester St. Patrick’s Day Parade, happening Saturday downtown, has added a special guest. On Friday, organizers announced that Olympic gold medalist and Pittsford native Chris Lillis will participate in the procession alongside the Ancient Order of Hibernians, a Catholic organization that is one of this year’s honorees. A former Bristol Mountain freestyle skier, Lillis struck gold at the recent Beijing Olympics in mixed team aerials.
