Fall Fest scheduled for Halloween weekend in downtown North Augusta

Oct. 23—A new fall festival is coming to North Augusta for Halloween weekend.

North Augusta Forward, a downtown business organization, is hosting the event on Oct. 30 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on West Pine Grove Avenue. From 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. that night, a concert event will be held at Cavalier's Coffeehouse off of Georgia Avenue in Jackson Square.

Up to 40 vendors will be in attendance with an artisan market, church trunk or treats and kids activities all day long.

Jenny Elliott, who is a member of the North Augusta Merchants Alliance and owner of Sweet Fig Market and Shoppe 3130, is helping put on the event. The idea came after the cancellation of Jack O'Lantern Jubilee by the city due to COVID-19 concerns.

"It's super family friendly and it's just a great time to get out, to enjoy some time outdoors," Elliott said. "...This is just a much smaller festival that's still an opportunity to get out."

The event will have live music performances by Tanner Duckworth, Jason Sheppard and the Mason Jars. Cheer performances by the Panthers and Yellow Jackets as well as a theatre performance of GRUNCH by the Augusta Jr. Players will be held.

Kids can also participate in a Halloween costume contest during the day.

"We're excited that people are getting out and spending time in the downtown area and we hope to see lots of people out," Elliott said.
