Fabens man fatally shot by family member on Thanksgiving, suspected shooter surrendered

A Fabens man was fatally shot on Thanksgiving by a family member who later surrendered to El Paso County sheriff's deputies, officials said.

Deputies responded to a report of criminal mischief and family violence about 5 p.m. Thursday in the to 1000 block of NE Pinkerton Street in Fabens, El Paso County Sheriff’s Office officials said.

Felix Rivera III, 46, was found dead in the home with an apparent gunshot wound caused by a family member, officials said.

The family member, whose name or relation to the victim was not disclosed, surrendered to deputies at the home.

No further information has been released as the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the fatal shooting.
