Exeter, Weiser, Wilson boys set for district lacrosse quarterfinals

May 18—Exeter and Conrad Weiser continue their playoff journeys and Wilson begins its in District 3 boys lacrosse quarterfinals Wednesday.

The fifth-seeded Eagles (13-5) play at No. 4 Hempfield (14-2) in a Class 3A game at 7. Exeter needed an overtime goal from Ty Yonas to get past Conestoga Valley 12-11 in the opening round. It was the Eagles' third overtime game of the season, and they have won them all.

The victory was the first in districts in eight seasons for the Eagles and put them in position to qualify for the PIAA Tournament for the first time with a win over the Lancaster-Lebanon League champs.

In Class 2A, the seventh-seeded Scouts (10-7) play at No. 2 Lampeter-Strasburg (13-4) at 7. Weiser advanced with a 7-4 win over Northern. A victory sends Weiser to the state tournament for the first time since 2010.

BCIAA champ Wilson (18-2) earned the No. 2 seed and a first-round bye in Class 3A. The Bulldogs open against long-time nemesis Manheim Township, the No. 7 seed. The Blue Streaks (11-7) advanced with a 16-9 win over Dallastown.
