Exeter, 4 other Berks League teams qualify for District 3 boys volleyball playoffs

May 16—Berks champion Exeter and four other league teams will begin play Thursday at 7 p.m. in the District 3 boys volleyball playoffs, it was announced Sunday.

In Class 3A, the eighth-seeded Eagles will open at home against ninth-seeded Chambersburg. The winner will travel to top-seeded Central Dauphin in a quarterfinal Monday, May 24.

Also in 3A, No. 7 seed Wilson will face No. 10 Dallastown at West Lawn. The winner will play at No. 2 seed Cumberland Valley in a May 24 quarterfinal.

In Class 2A, ninth-seeded Brandywine Heights will play at eighth-seeded Daniel Boone in a meeting of Berks teams. The winner will play at No. 1 seed Lower Dauphin in a May 24 quarterfinal.

Also in 2A, No. 10 Fleetwood will travel to No. 7 Lancaster Mennonite. The winner will play at second-seeded Garden Spot in a May 24 quarterfinal.

The semifinals in both classes are scheduled for May 26 and the championship and consolation matches are set for May 28. The top four teams from each class qualify for the PIAA Tournament.
