Eustis’ Treadwell Farms partners with Living Vitalitea to launch hemp-infused kombucha

EUSTIS — Treadwell Farms, a local hemp company, has been chosen to collaborate with Florida-based kombucha company Living Vitalitea in creating the company’s first hemp-infused kombucha beverage.

The Florida Sunset Organic Hemp Kombucha uses fresh hemp leaves from the farm and was inspired by the smell and taste of the plant.

“We wanted to capture the essence of this beautiful, magical plant,” Daniel Koenigkann, owner and brewer of Living Vitalitea, said.

“Treadwell Farms was able to offer us whole plant material, which includes the leaves, stems, as well as the flower," he continued. "With this, we created a full-bodied, full flavor kombucha elixir that contains all of the terpenes and flavonoids of the hemp plant with notes of pine, strawberry, and even guava.

"We intentionally left out the CBD and THC because they are simply not water-soluble, and mostly anyone using CBD in water-based drinks are using chemicalized processes that we simply avoid.”

'It’s a product I love'

When Koenigkann was looking for the highest quality hemp, he found Treadwell Farms through a mutual friend and decided to tour the facility. He was amazed at its production and began developing a new line of kombucha.

“I love that not only are we working with another local company, but it’s a product I love,” co-owner of Treadwell Farms Jammie Treadwell said. “At Treadwell Farms, we’ve always been proponents of utilizing the whole hemp plant. What comes out of it are organic nutrients that reduce inflammation, reduce anxiety, and reduce aches and pains, amongst other wellness benefits.

"Combined with the antioxidant, probiotic-rich kombucha, it’s a superfood product that fully supports people’s health and wellness, and it tastes great.”
