Harriet’s exile
Vicar Harriet is set to take social distancing to extremes when she goes into self-imposed exile in a cellar.
Now, most people in the UK who’re isolating are doing so after being tracked and traced. But Harriet’s excessive form of sequestering is entirely voluntary and stems from her determination to repent her sins following the murder of Malone. And she feels that the only way to do this is by going off-grid, with just a Bible and some meagre rations for sustenance.

The only person who she’s taken into her confidence is Will, who’s telling friends and neighbours that Harriet is “away on a retreat”. But for how long will Harriet want to cut herself off from the community?
Mack’s secrets and lies
As the old saying goes, you can’t kid a kidder. So, despite Mack believing that he’s the king of the con, we’re all aware that wily old Faith is onto him because she already knows every trick in the book. Realising that exposing Mack’s secrets would endear her to Cain, Faith starts digging for dirt and sneaks into the farm in search of evidence.
Moira, meanwhile, is voicing her sadness at not being able to attend her mum’s funeral. Her state of melancholy leaves Mack looking very guilty indeed, but he’ll have even more cause for concern when Cain gets wind of what Faith has discovered. As cover-ups are exposed and Mack admits to having told an almighty lie, will Moira be able to forgive him?
All change at the Woolpack
Landladies are the superstars of soap, the A-list characters whose private lives become public gossip. So, a change in ownership at the pub is bound to be big news in the village.
At the centre of this latest drama is the always divisive Charity, who is finalising the sale of her share of the Woolpack to Marlon. And as is often the case with brassy publicans, she’s having to put on a brave face in order to mask her upset. But as the paperwork is prepped for signing, Charity finds she can no longer hide her sadness as her era behind the bar comes to an end.
Paul beats Vinny to a pulp
Actor Reece Dinsdale seems to have spent his career playing characters obsessing over their finances. First, he was money-mad Matthew in 1980s’ sitcom Home to Roost. Then came Joe on Corrie, whose plan to cash in on a life insurance policy by faking his death backfired spectacularly. And now, he’s gambling addict Paul, who keeps beating up his poor son Vinny when the racing results don’t go his way.
What we’ll see next is Vinny getting suspicious about Paul’s recent kidnapping and realising that his dad arranged the abduction in order to con Liv out of her inheritance. When Vinny declares that he’s going to tell Mandy the truth, Paul pummels him to the ground.
And as Vinny lies unconscious with blood trickling from his mouth, we’ll be left wondering whether murder has now been added to Paul’s mounting list of sins.
