EDC official takes on Greensboro role

May 18—GREENSBORO — Former High Point Economic Development Corp. Vice President Marshall Yandle has left his post to take on a similar role for Greensboro.

His first day as economic development manager was Monday, according to a news release from Greensboro. He succeeds Kathi Dubel, who retired in December.

Yandle will oversee that city's economic development division of the Planning Department.

During his five-and-a-half years in High Point, he was credited with helping the city land $118 million worth of projects projected to create more than 600 jobs, the release stated.

Yandle also helped organize the Guilford Technical Community College Furniture Academy in High Point and the city's "small-scale manufacturing" initiative, the release stated.

"Our City's economic development focus mirrors Yandle's background experience," Sue Schwartz, Planning Department director, said in the release. "He has a proven track record of success in encouraging economic investment and facilitating expansion of employment opportunities. Yandle will help us strengthen our business support functions to foster economic growth in the community."

Yandle is a member of the Piedmont Triad Chapter of NAIOP Commercial Real Estate Development Association and NC Economic Development Association Professional Development Committee.
