Eastern North Carolina closings and delays ahead of weekend winter weather
This story will be updated throughout the day to reflect new closings and delays.
Due to the winter weather heading into Craven County in the next 48 hours, schools and businesses have already moved to close their doors for Friday.
Closings and Delays
City of New Bern- offices will be closed Friday.
Tyron Palace- Tryon Palace will be closed to the public this Friday and Saturday. A decision on re-opening to the public on Sunday will be made on Saturday. Please watch for further information, on our Facebook page and website, www.tryonpalace.org, or call 252 639-3500, prior to visiting us.
Additionally, the Twin Rivers Quilters Guild exhibit, “Pieced with Care,” scheduled to open this Saturday, has been postponed to Tuesday.
Pamlico Community College- Pamlico Community College will close at 4:30 p.m. Thursday. The college will be closed all day on Friday.
Craven County Schools- Craven County Schools’ students and staff will participate in remote learning Friday, Jan. 21.
Craven County Parks- All Craven County Parks will be closed Friday. Will reopen when all parks are deemed safe to use.
Craven County Sheriff's Office- Deputies will be working their normal shifts however, the Administrative Office will be closed until Monday.
Jones County Schools- Jones County Public Schools system will be closed for all students and staff on Friday.
Lenoir County Public Schools- will be closed for all students and staff members on Friday.
New Bern Christian Academy- will be closed for students and staff on Friday.
New Bern Area Chamber of Commerce-Business After Hours at Floors Unlimited has been canceled and rescheduled for Feb. 24.
Excel Learning Center- Due to the impending icy conditions tomorrow and an abundance of caution for children and staff, all Excel locations will be closed on Friday.
Arendell Parrott Academy- will be closed on Friday.
Carteret, Craven, and Pamlico County Courts- All District Attorney office locations and all state courts will be closed Friday.
