EastEnders spoilers follow.

Ruby Allen has managed to turn her husband Martin Fowler against his ex-wife Stacey Slater with a lie about her recent fall in EastEnders.

Last week, Ruby (Louisa Lytton) fell down the stairs at her club when she reached to grab Stacey (Lacey Turner) during a heated argument over who was Martin's true love.

In Tuesday's episode (March 2), Stacey visited the Fowlers to apologise for all of the bad blood in the past, and to try to make peace with Ruby once and for all.

"I know you hate me. If I was you, I'd hate me too, but I don't want to fight anymore," she insisted. "I am sorry."

However, Ruby angrily reacted by insisting that Stacey had caused her to lose her child by pushing her down the stairs. As viewers know, Ruby had actually lost her baby days before her fall and was not actually pushed down the stairs.

Stacey denied the accusations, but was put on the back-foot when Ruby did reveal the truth that Stacey and Kush had confronted her in the club last week to demand she take a pregnancy test in front of them.

As Kush tried to explain himself, Martin furiously exploded by punching his long-time best mate. The two later made things right, with Kush encouraging Martin to take the time needed to cope with his own emotions over the loss of his and Ruby's child.

Martin also confronted Stacey once more over Ruby's allegations but shut down any of his ex-wife's denials about the stairwell incident.

"Ruby is my wife," he told her. "She'd have been a mother and all, if it weren't for you. That kiss at Christmas were a mistake. I'm over you, Stace, and I have been for a long time.

"I don't need you to protect me. I need to protect her. That's how I help her. She is my priority now. So, there's not going to be any more little chats between me and you, alright?

"I'm not going to be fighting your corner anymore. We'll be civil for the kids, of course we will. But you and me? We're done. For good."
