Eagles' social-media team has perfect petty response to Orlando Scandrick
In case you missed it, on Friday morning Orlando Scandrick, recently released by the Philadelphia Eagles, appeared on FS1’s “Undisputed.”
In the parlance of the times, Scandrick spilled some tea, calling out Eagles general manager Howie Roseman (“I don’t believe anything that Howie says”), the team in general (“I feel like they’re still living on that Super Bowl high”) and, perhaps most pointedly, safety Malcolm Jenkins.
Although it was telling that Scandrick didn’t mention Jenkins’ name, he left that to show host Skip Bayless.
When asked about how the Eagles’ defense was doing because the team has had its ups and downs, including back-to-back road losses to the Minnesota Vikings and Dallas Cowboys, Scandrick said, “I think on defense they’ve stuck together pretty good.”
But then: “There’s some selfish people on that defense though. Absolutely. I think Rasul Douglas, who’s a good friend of mine, I think he took some unwanted heat for some blown coverages on some other people’s selfish play. And we don’t even have to say names at all. They know who they are,” Scandrick said. “I think that when you wear a ‘C’ on your jersey [as a captain], it’s your job to bring guys along, it’s your job that sometimes you have to take [the heat], and you need to bring the thing together.
“I don’t know if that’s the case. You look at everything that happened — you hold out for a contract, you’re not making any plays, any splash plays, then you go down to Minnesota and you somehow supposed to be on a half of the field and you end up playing a crosser? That’s not a rookie we’re talking about here. It’s a two-time Super Bowl champ.”
Jenkins, speaking to media after Scandrick’s appearance, said, “I could give two [expletive] about people who aren’t here,” Jenkins said. “For us to move on as a team, we can’t have [expletive] like that in here.”
And a couple of hours later, the Eagles’ social-media team showed that it has Jenkins’ back.

That tweet contains video from the Eagles-Vikings game, a clip of Jenkins shedding a blocker and then wrapping his arms around ball carrier Alexander Mattison. Fellow safety Rodney McLeod comes in to help finish the play, the ball comes loose — it appears Jenkins helped that happen — and an Eagles teammate gets the loose ball.
On the sideline, Scandrick approaches Jenkins.
“That’s exactly why you the captain of this defense, bro,” Scandrick says, placing a hand on the back of Jenkins’ helmet. “The way that you [expletive] conduct yourself. First snap to the last.”
The forced fumble came with 2 minutes left in the game and Philadelphia down 38-20.
Game, set, match, Eagles social-media team. We respect the petty.
