Three dollars can’t buy you a whole lot nowadays, but for the cost of three cans of Coke, 12 gumballs, or one Happy Meal, you can get a new eyeshadow palette. And your money will be well-spent on these “buttery" smooth shades.
E.L.F. Bite Size Eyeshadow Palettes first gained attention on TikTok due to the extremely low cost of the shadow sets. At only $3, the four-shade palettes are a steal — and the quality is said to far exceed the expectation of an under-$5 palette.
A TikTok clip of the sets posted by user @arianalucidonio has gathered more than 730,000 likes on the platform. The video shows 22-year-old Philly native Ariana shopping for the shadows on Ulta, then receiving her package in the mail. Though she says the palettes are smaller than she expected, she says they look “stunning."
In a followup swatch video, Ariana says she is particularly stunned by the performance of the shimmer shades, which she calls “buttery." But even the mattes are quite pigmented for any palette, let alone a $3 eyeshadow set.

Ariana also created an eye look with the Cream and Sugar palette in the third TikTok. While the shimmer shades do appear to be slightly superior to the matte shades when it comes to blending and pigment, no one would ever guess this look cost $3.
