Duluth Coffee Co. cafe reopening April 20

Apr. 13—The Duluth Coffee Co.'s cafe in downtown Duluth is reopening April 20 after being closed for more than a year due to the pandemic.

A reopening event will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 105 E. Superior St. The cafe will serve free cold brew and cappuccinos and host Mama Roots food bus; live music from Actual Wolf and Robin Hood Was Right; and a Stigma CBD pop-up shop.

Owner Eric Faust said he has about 300 sticks of sidewalk chalk so customers can decorate the street during the reopening celebration.

"We're a community hub," Faust said. "We're a place that is there for this community to come together, so we've waited a long time because we've been supporting our wholesale clients, but we're opening now because we're ready now to do it safely."

Faust said he's excited to reopen to showcase his company's coffee and highlight the local coffee community.

Starting April 21, Duluth Coffee Co. will be open from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Thursday with a limited menu.

The cafe will enforce COVID-19 guidelines of wearing masks and staying 6 feet apart.
