Duffy unveils new song after opening up about kidnap and rape ordeal
Duffy has unveiled a new song she said is “for the better days to come” just months after revealing that she was drugged, held captive and raped.
The Welsh singer, 35, posted the track, River In The Sky, on her Instagram account.
It is the first new music she has shared since March, when she sent a song called Something Beautiful to radio DJ Jo Whiley to help “lift spirits” amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The singer has been largely absent from the music scene in recent years but returned after opening up about her ordeal in February.
Writing on Instagram, the singer told fans she had kept away from the public eye but was ready to talk about what had happened.
The Mercy singer wrote: “Many of you wonder what happened to me, where did I disappear to and why? The truth is, and please trust me I am ok and safe now, I was raped and drugged and held captive over some days.”
She went on: “Of course I survived. The recovery took time. There’s no light way to say it. But I can tell you in the last decade, the thousands and thousands of days I committed to wanting to feel the sunshine in my heart again, the sun does now shine.”

Fans were thrilled about the star sharing her new song, in which she sings of being “afraid of the dark”.
“Stunning,” said one person on Instagram, while many declared it was “beautiful”.
“Just stopped what I was doing and just listened .... so so beautiful,” said another fan, while one posted: “I’m so glad to know that precious voice is still there ready and roaring to tell your story!”
