Duane Washington Jr. to participate in NBA G League Elite Camp

Ohio State guard Duane Washington Jr. has reportedly received an invitation to participate in the NBA G League Elite Camp, according to Chris Grenham of Forbes.

Washington was named to the All-Big Ten Third Team after averaging 16.4 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 31 games as a junior. He reached 1,000 career points this season, becoming the 59th player in program history to reach that mark.

The 6-foot-3 guard announced in April he would test the NBA waters while maintaining his collegiate eligibility. In addition to competing in the G League Elite Camp, Washington previously worked out with the Boston Celtics.

The league announced in April that the G League Elite Camp would return this year and take place June 19-21 in Chicago. The scouting event gives prospects the opportunity to showcase their skills in front of NBA and G League scouts, coaches and front-office executives.

The top performers in the G League Elite Camp will have the opportunity to earn invitations to participate in the draft combine June 21-27. Overall, 11 players were invited to the combine from the G League Elite Camp in 2019 and five were eventually drafted.

The NBA draft is scheduled to take place on July 29.
