Driver suffers minor injuries when car flips into DeKalb County river

A driver is safe after his car flipped into a river in DeKalb County on Friday afternoon, fire officials say.

DeKalb County fire officials say a car overturned into the South River near Warrior’s Path.

The man driving the car was able to get himself out and was treated for minor injuries.

Police say when they arrived, there was no one inside the vehicle. Witnesses told them they saw several people climb out of the car and run away from the scene.

It is unclear how the car ended up flipped in the river.

Crews are currently trying to remove the car from the river.
