Eugene Sturn, 54, was charged with failing to stop/remain at a crash involving serious bodily injury, tampering with or fabricating physical evidence and leaving the scene of a crash involving property damage.

He was being held Saturday at the Brevard County Jail on $17,500 bail.

The crash took place at about 1:52 a.m. May 15 in front of the Oaks Plaza, just east of the intersection of Hibiscus Boulevard and Evans Road in Melbourne, police said.
