May is full of activities. Here are five events you might want to check out in the Peoria area this weekend.
Traveling Taphouse at park with horses
The Parks on Tap Traveling Taphouse will be set up from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 20, in Lakeview Park, 1917 W. Lake Ave. The event will also feature recreational activities from PPD on the Go! and the Budweiser Clydesdales will be visiting from 5 to 7 p.m. Admission is free.
Heights Courtyard Concert series
The Courtyard Concert series featuring free live rotating music from a collection of artists from multiple genres kicks off the 2022 season from 8 to 11 p.m. Saturday, May 21, at Heritage Square in Peoria Heights. Enjoy great music, drinks, grub and good times.
Whiskey City Salvage warehouse sale
Whiskey City Salvage’s fourth annual warehouse sale will be held from from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 21, at 836 SW Washington St. in Peoria’s historic warehouse district. The warehouse has held shop overflow for the past seven years, but the warehouse is up for sale, so it is time to liquidate.
Sculpture Walk Peoria opening day
The Peoria Art Guild is hosting a 2022 Sculpture Walk Peoria opening day reception from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 21, at the front entrance of the Peoria Riverfront Museum. The outdoor public art exhibit will feature eight new sculptures installed along both sides of Washington Street from the Peoria Riverfront Museum to the Bob Michel Bridge.
Karaoke for charity
Wilton Mortuary staff will belt out karaoke for charity from 8 to 11:30 p.m. Saturday, May 21, at The Navy Marine Club, 1310 E. Seiberling Ave., Peoria Heights. The event will also feature DJ RaptorWrangler, and all proceeds will be donated directly to the Illinois Valley Fuller Center for Housing of West Peoria, in honor of Armed Forces Day. Cost is a $5 cover charge and $1 per song request, and attendees must be age 21 or over. Patriotic dress is encouraged in support of veterans.
