Dramatic clip shows house float away after heavy flooding

Residents in Utica, N.Y., filmed a house floating down a river after it was swept away following heavy flooding and severe storms that hit the area.

NBC News put up the clip of the striking sighting Tuesday morning.

Last Thursday, central New York sent several flash flood warnings to residents. In Utica in particular, several roads were dubbed impassable because of all the water.

The Utica police department posted on Facebook that most of their resources were already deployed and that they were working as quickly as possible to set up barricades in affected areas.

As of this past weekend, cleanup is still undergoing in the central New York area following the storms — with Oneida Country keeping its state-of-emergency declaration in place until further notice.
