Commercial real estate services firm CBRE Inc. is moving from its longtime home at U.S. Bank Center to downtown Milwaukee's newest office tower.

CBRE is leasing 12,775 square feet on the 18th floor of BMO Tower, 790 N. Water St.

That's according to new building permit applications filed with the city Department of Neighborhood Services.

A representative of Atlanta-based CBRE didn't immediately respond to a request for more information. The filings with the city include a rendering of the office's new interior.

CBRE established a foothold in Milwaukee through its 1996 network affiliation with Polacheck Co., one of Milwaukee's oldest commercial real estate brokerages.

CBRE in 2006 bought Polacheck. The firm was formed in 1954 by Robert Polacheck and became the city's largest commercial real estate brokerage.

CBRE, through its predecessor, has been a tenant at U.S. Bank Center, 777 E. Wisconsin Ave., since shortly after the office tower opened in 1973.

The 25-story BMO Tower was developed by Irgens Partners LLC and opened in September 2020. Its anchor tenants are BMO Harris Bank and Michael Best & Friedrich law firm.
