Donald Trump's 'Home Alone 2' scene cut by CBC — and Don Jr. says it's 'pathetic'

Update: President Donald Trump responded on Twitter, joking Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau must "not like my making him pay up on NATO or Trade!"

Yes, President Trump's cameo in Home Alone 2: Lost in New York was axed by CBC TV in Canada. A spokesman for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation confirmed the edit, telling Yahoo Entertainment that Trump's scene from the 1992 film was "one of several" cut for time.

"As is often the case with feature films adapted for television, Home Alone 2 was edited for time," the statement began. "The scene with Donald Trump was one of several that were cut from the movie as none of them were integral to the plot. These edits were done in 2014 when we first acquired the film and before Mr. Trump was elected president."

During the scene in question, Kevin McCallister (Macaulay Culkin) walks into the Plaza Hotel and runs into Trump, the former owner of the swanky New York City establishment.

"Excuse me. Where's the lobby," Culkin asks.

"Down the hall and to the left," Trump replies.

Trump appears on screen for less than 10 seconds, but people — including the president's eldest son — definitely took notice the cameo was cut over the holidays. Donald Trump Jr. called his father's omission "pathetic."

Others called for CBC to be defunded.

"You guys are the biggest bush league ‘journalists’ of all time. Editing out Trump’s cameo in Home Alone 2. What kind of state-sponsored bulls*** it that? #Defund," another person tweeted to CBC.

It was first pointed out in 2015 that Trump's scene didn't make it to broadcast.

The president recently brought up his appearance in the film calling it an "honor" to appear in "one of the biggest" Christmas hits.

"Well, I'm in Home Alone 2, and a lot of people mention it every year, especially around Christmas," he said during a Christmas Eve teleconference call with military members. "They say, 'I just saw you.' Especially young kids, they say, 'I just saw you on the movie.' They don't see me on television as they do in the movie. But it's been a good movie and I was a little bit younger, to put it mildly, and it was an honor to do it."

"And it turned out to be a very big hit; obviously, it’s a big Christmas hit, one of the biggest, so it’s an honor to be involved in something like that," he continued. "You always like to see success."
