Donald Trump Jr. takes credit for 'The View' ratings boost: 'You're welcome'

Donald Trump Jr.’s appearance on The View last Thursday resulted in major fireworks — and ratings. Now, the first son is taking credit.

As Deadline reports, the daytime talk show saw its highest ratings since April 26 (the day of former Vice President Joe Biden’s visit) with more than 3 million viewers tuning in to see Trump and girlfriend Kimberly Guilfoyle lock horns with panelists Joy Behar, Whoopi Goldberg, Abby Huntsman, Sunny Hostin and Meghan McCain on Nov. 7.

News of the ratings boost made its way to the president’s eldest son, who took it as an endorsement of his conservative beliefs.

“Confirmed, America has been looking for a different View,” he tweeted on Tuesday, while tagging the show. “You’re welcome.”

Given the heated confrontations during last week’s show, the View stars may not be sending over flowers just yet. The Triggered author accused Behar of wearing blackface in the past and slammed Goldberg for seemingly downplaying Roman Polanski’s sexual misconduct. He later butted heads with Hostin on Twitter, then complained on a podcast that the hosts “tried to smear” him and “besmirch” his family.

Nov. 7 also marked a major milestone for the show, which celebrated its 5,000th episode that day.
