Donald Trump Jr., who has made millions of dollars as the executive vice president of the Trump Organization because he’s Donald Trump’s son, joked with Sean Hannity Wednesday night about all the money he could make if he was Joe Biden’s son. Although there’s no evidence of wrongdoing, Biden’s son Hunter has come under scrutiny from conservatives for dealings in Ukraine and China while his dad was vice president, and Trump junior believes there’s a double standard when it comes to media coverage of the two families.

“I wish my name was Hunter Biden. I could go abroad, make millions off of my father’s presidency. I’d be a really rich guy. It would be incredible,” Trump said. “But because my name is Trump, if I took 1.5 dollars from China, not 1.5 billion like Hunter, but 1.5 dollars, their heads would explode.”

It should be noted that Hunter Biden did not receive $1.5 billion from China. He served on the board of a company managing a private equity fund, involving some state-owned financial companies in China, whose goal was to raise $1.5 billion for investments in 2014. In a recent interview, Biden admitted though he had done nothing illegal, he would not have had the opportunities he did if Joe Biden wasn’t his father.

As for Trump Jr., it’s disingenuous to pretend that he and his siblings haven’t profited from their father’s position. Ivanka has been awarded multiple Chinese trademarks since their father took office, raising ethics concerns given her position in the White House. And on a trip to India last year, Trump Jr. not only gave a speech on U.S. foreign policy, but also promised to have dinner with anyone who bought Trump properties and was willing to put down a $38,000 booking fee.

Hannity airs weeknights at 9 p.m. on Fox News Channel.
