Donald Trump is fighting back after Debra Messing and Will & Grace co-star Eric McCormack spoke out against an upcoming Hollywood fundraiser being held in his honor.

Both actors called for the celebrities attending the Sept. 17 event to be named and shamed so, as McCormack put it, “the rest of us can be clear about who we don’t wanna work with.” Though it’s unclear who will be attending the fundraiser, celebrities like Jon Voight, Scott Baio and Kristy Swanson are among those who have publicly endorsed him.

Some accused the Will & Grace stars of supporting a Joseph McCarthy-style blacklist, while Trump merely seems amused that Messing is now a critic. According to a tweet sent by the president on Sunday morning, the actress “profusely thanked me” for, he claims, boosting NBC’s ratings with The Apprentice.

Trump’s tweet riled up plenty of people. While one POTUS supporter slammed Messing and McCormack as “Hollywood hypocrites,” many were upset that Trump was spending time on a celebrity squabble rather than focusing on Saturday’s mass shooting in Texas.

In addition to being an outspoken critic of the president, Messing has famously gone toe to toe with fellow actress Susan Sarandon over their political differences.

On Sunday afternoon she responded to Trump’s message by shaming him for not attending to more important matters.

Update, 5 p.m.: This article has been updated with Messing’s response.
